The National Elementary Honor Society is a national organization which recognizes students with outstanding academics as well as modeling exceptional responsibility in the following areas:
Scholarship Leadership Service Character
Meadow Lane students have an opportunity to apply for membership during their fourth grade year. If a student meets the following criteria:
- 3.7 Cumulative grade point average in the core subjects (Reading, English/Writing, Math, Science & Social Studies) for all of Third Grade, and the first and second trimester (Scholarship) of Fourth Grade
- Demonstrates positive "Mustang Strong" behavior (Character, Service, & Leadership)

An application will be presented to the student to complete and submit in a given time frame. Student applications will be viewed by the NEHS advisors. All NEHS candidates will be notified by invitation to participate in an induction ceremony in the Spring.
To remain eligible, fifth grade members must maintain their membership by completing service hours through participation in school and community-related activities during their fifth grade year, and by upholding positive conduct both within and outside of school.
The NEHS Chairperson for Meadow Lane School is Mrs. Puttkammer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact her at: kputtkammer@ahsd125.org
Membership provides an outstanding means to prepare and shape students for their middle level and high school experiences.
